About Liaquat National Hospital
One of the most established significant emergency clinics in Karachi is the Liaquat National Hospital. Not long after the formation of Pakistan the Red Cross Committee, which was led by Syed Wajid Ali, (one of the three famous children of Syed Maratib Ali) raised with regards to Rs. 800,000 through meena marketplaces coordinated under the direction of Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan. The board of trustees chose to lay out an emergency clinic in Karachi, Pakistan called "The National Hospital". Mr Ghulam Muhammad, the Governor General of Pakistan, established the framework stone of the medical clinic on February 23, 1953. In memory of Liaquat Ali Khan, the primary Prime Minister of Pakistan who was killed in 1951, the National Hospital was renamed as Liaquat National Hospital. Syed Wajid Ali was chosen as the leader of a panel to manage the working of the emergency clinic.
